Why Source Metal Stamping from Vietnam?

Vietnam's stamping industry has matured rapidly — serving Japanese and Korean automotive OEMs with world-class precision and speed.

💰

50–75% Lower Cost Than US

Stamping is labor and die-intensive — both are dramatically cheaper in Vietnam. Tooling costs 50–70% less. Piece prices 60–80% lower at production volumes.

🛡️

Zero China Tariffs

Chinese stamped parts face 25% Section 301 tariffs. Vietnamese parts enter at standard MFN rates — no extra duties on brackets, clips, or pressed components.

🚗

Automotive-Grade Quality

Many Vietnam stamping factories supply Toyota, Honda, and Samsung. They run IATF 16949 quality systems with PPAP capability and full SPC monitoring.

Metal Stamping FAQ

What stamping processes do you offer?
Progressive die stamping, transfer die stamping, deep drawing, compound die stamping, and fine blanking. Our Vietnam factories operate presses from 25T to 1,000T, with progressive dies running at speeds up to 600 SPM (strokes per minute).
What materials can you stamp?
Cold-rolled steel (SPCC, SPCD, SPCE), stainless steel (SUS304, SUS301, SUS316), aluminum (1100, 3003, 5052, 6061), copper (C1100, C2600), brass (C2680, C2801), phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, and spring steel (SK5, SUS301).
What tolerances can you hold?
Standard stamping: ±0.05mm on blanked dimensions, ±0.1mm on formed features. Fine blanking: ±0.01mm. Progressive die stamping maintains tight positional tolerances through precision pilot pins and die guidance.
What's the minimum order quantity?
For new progressive die projects, we recommend 10,000+ pieces to justify tooling. For simple blanking/forming dies, 3,000+ pieces. Existing dies: runs as low as 1,000 pieces. Tooling costs range from $1,500 for simple dies to $30,000+ for complex progressive dies.
Can you handle secondary operations?
Yes — tapping, riveting, PEM insert installation, spot welding, laser welding, deburring, tumbling, plating (zinc, nickel, chrome, tin), anodizing, powder coating, heat treatment, and assembly. Most factories do 3-5 of these in-house.
What material thicknesses can you stamp?
0.05mm to 6mm depending on material and process. Progressive die stamping: 0.1mm–3mm typical. Deep drawing: 0.3mm–4mm. Fine blanking: 0.5mm–6mm. We can also handle foil stamping for electronics applications (down to 0.05mm).
How do stamping costs in Vietnam compare to China?
Vietnam stamping is 10–15% cheaper than China before tariffs. With China's Section 301 tariffs (25% on most stamped metal parts), the effective savings are 35–40%. Tooling costs in Vietnam are 50–70% less than US die shops.
Do you offer design support for stamped parts?
Yes. Our engineers provide DFM review for stampability — strip layout optimization, draw ratio analysis, springback compensation, and material utilization improvement. We often reduce per-piece cost 10–20% through design optimization.
